Press Releases: A Powerful Publicity Tool to Build Business Awareness

One sure-fire way to get your business known is by using press releases. A press release is written material that announces a news type event. Television networks, radio stations, magazines, and newspapers as well as online resources will publish the announcement if your news story peaks interest.

People are interested in the news and are always looking for a good story. Business owners can use press releases to give them those good stories while making a name for their company. The best way to do that is to make sure the release is a story and not simply an advertisement for your business.

Press Releases Provide Powerful Benefits to Small and Big Business Owners Alike

Press Releases are the most popular means of providing publicity online and offline. They have many advantages that both small and big business owners can profit from. Some of those are:

More traffic to your site - The press release that gets published on one of the media outlets will have your website link provided within it. Those who have reviewed your release and want more information will click through the link or check out the website.

Build a brand - What better way to get your business name into the minds of your target audience or anyone who happens to read your press releases. The more a consumer sees your business name being mentioned the more likely they will remember it the next time they, or someone they know, is in need of your products.

Inexpensive way to get free publicity - Getting an effective press release written will cost you some money. Some will include the costs of submitting it for you, so the cost of getting the free publicity will be inexpensive.

Gain Credibility - The press release can also help to get your business more credibility. Potential consumers will start to see you as an expert in your field and think that you should be the one to go to when they need the products you offer.

What News Items You Can Create to Make an Effective Release

By no means should you wait around for something newsworthy to happen within your business before you can start benefiting from news releases. Why wait? Start now.

Create news stories from what’s already going on. Here are some things that could be turned into news stories for your news release:

  • Any contests that you’re planning
  • Starting your business
  • Getting more products to sell
  • Special Discounts/Sales
  • Fundraising events your business is helping with
  • Offering Free Items
  • Any Awards your business has won

Some of these stories can not only be newsworthy items but also show what a humanitarian you or your business is. Credibility comes into play again and we all know that credibility helps to build rapport with your target audience and gains you a higher “expert” level.

Press releases are one of the most powerful publicity tools available today for all business owners. Use it to your advantage and join all the other successful internet marketers who have used press releases many times in the past with very positive results.

How to Get the Most Out of Quora in Less than 513 Words

By: Josh Druck

What is Quora? (Get Answers to Questions)

“Quora is a continually improving collection of questions and answers created, edited, and organized by everyone who uses it. The most important thing is to have each question page become the best possible resource for someone who wants to know about the question.” – ‘About’ Section on Quora

As far as I can see Quora is a great place to accumulate and share knowledge. Similar to Yahoo Answers, you can find answers to just about any question you might have……from the age old “Who would win in a fight: MacGyver or Jack Bauer?” to “Which SEO strategies should be considered unethical?”. You can vote up answers and follow questions to keep you informed of new responses.

But perhaps best of all: Quora is a place to develop and share in a great community of thinkers.

You can ask/add your own questions to Quora and track the views and answers you receive, so do not be shy to ask away. When you get an answer you like, vote it up and “Thank” your responder if you really enjoyed their post. Continue to engage with people and follow them as you discover their personalities through the answers they give.

Use Quora to Drive Traffic! (Give Answers to Questions)

“People use Quora to document the world around them. Over time, the database of knowledge should grow and grow until almost everything that anyone wants to know is available in the system. When knowledge is put into Quora, it is there forever to be shared with anyone in the future who is interested.” – Quora

Quora has the ability to become a site with an enormous database of information. As we have seen in the past with Wikipedia, this should eventually lead to large amounts of back-links making it a top site for internet users to find answers to any questions.

Keep in mind simply by answering questions on Quora, you establish yourself as a reputable source on a topic. Especially when people vote up your answers. So peruse Quora and find some questions you can help people answer, something you have a passion for (philosophy, politics, computers), a hobby (art, sports, social media), or something relating to your business (marketing concepts, coaching, startups).

Edit your profile to reflect the kinds of things you are interested in and the topics you can answer best. Link to your blog or website and use the space Quora provides wisely. (NOTE: Only the first 147 characters can be seen without clicking the ‘more’ button of your profile)

Conclusion: Give Quora a Try

Sign up, check out the questions, and browse the millions of answers. Perhaps you can learn something or help someone else in need of an answer. Quora has not yet hit it’s full potential in the vast landscape of social media but has well established itself already as “a place where new stuff — that no one has written about yet — can get pulled onto the web.”
